The Royal Association of Belgian Senior Golfers (ARGSB) was founded in 1946. Its objective is to create friendly sport links between its members and to give them the opportunity to meet golfers, members of foreign associations.
The ARGSB counts in 2024 two hundred associates, members of many Belgian golf clubs.
Many activities are organized every year. Some ten monthly golf encounters take place through the year in different Belgian clubs. Three championships are also played: the individual one, a greensome and the 4BBB championship (Jan Speeckaert Challenge).
Bilateral match play competitions are played with European countries, bringing together the players for one to three days.
The Association organizes every two years the “H.M. King Léopold III Challenge”, an international competition on invitation, welcoming teams of Europe, Canada, The United States and South Africa.
In the framework of the European Senior Golf Association – ESGA, the Belgian Association participates to the European Championship and, for players of 65 years and more, the Masters Championship.
L’Association Royale de Golfeurs Seniors de Belgique – ARGSB a été fondée en 1946 en vue de créer des liens amicaux et sportifs entre ses membres et de leur donner l’occasion de rencontrer des membres d’associations étrangères. L’ARGSB compte aujourd’hui deux cent membres en provenance de la majorité des clubs de golf du pays. Tous les deux ans, elle organise le Challenge Roi Léopold III, une compétition internationale sur invitation réunissant des délégations américaines, canadiennes, sud-africaines et européennes. Dans le cadre de l’European Senior Golf Association – ESGA, dont elle est un des 24 membres, elle participe au Championnat (55 ans +), et au Masters (65 ans+). Elle joue dans différentes rencontres bilatérales avec plusieurs pays européens. En ce qui concerne les compétitions ouvertes à ses membres, l’Association organise trois championnats : un championnat individuel, un championnat greensome et un championnat 4 balles meilleure balle doté du Challenge Speeckaert. Une dizaine de rencontres mensuelles disputées sur différents terrains de Belgique complètent le programme de même qu’ une semaine de compétition dans le Midi de la France et un voyage de découverte alliant golf et culture.
De ARGSB – Association Royale de Golfeurs Seniors de Belgique – werd gesticht in 1946.
Ze wil sportieve vriendschapsbanden creëren onder haar leden en biedt hen de gelegenheid buitenlandse Senior Associaties te ontmoeten. De ARGSB telt tweehonderd leden afkomstig uit alle mogelijks Belgische clubs. Om de twee jaar organiseert ze de “Challenge Roi Léopold III”. Het betreft een internationaal tornooi met delegaties uit USA, Canada, Zuid-Africa en talrijke Europese landen.
De ARGSB is één van de 24 leden van de Europian Senior Golf Association – ESGA en neemt jaarlijks deel aan het European Championship (voor 55+) en aan de European Masters (Voor 65+). Elk jaar staan er bovendien een aantal bilaterale ontmoetingen op het programma tegen onder andere Duitsland, Engeland, Frankrijk, Luxemburg, Nederland en Zwitserland.
Intern organiseert de ARGSB drie Belgische kampioenschappen; single, greensome en 4BBB (Challenge Jean Speeckaert) en maandelijks is er een vriendschappelijke ontmoeting in één van de Belgische golfclubs. Als kers op de taart is er in de lente de “Week van de Côte d’Azur” en in de herfst wordt een jaarlijkse reis georganiseerd waar golf en cultuur harmonieus gecombineerd worden.
